Assignment : MV Protection Coordination Study, Testing & Commissioning of Storm Water Pumping Station : St. Sebastian North Lock Gates and Pumping Station (NLGPS), Wellampitiya, Sri Lanka 

Upon invitation of project contractor (China Geo-Engineering Corporation Sri Lanka), APCL involved in conducting Testing & Commissioning of 11 kV & 3.3 kV Medium Voltage Installation including a Protection Coordination Study. 

Without limiting to general T&C scope, APCL consultant Eng. Kaushalya Alpitiarachchi together with Eng. Laksith Sirisena conducted an in-depth Visual Inspection on MV system to identify the areas requiring improvements prior to commercial operation. 

Tests conducted:

• Dielectric Withstand Voltage (HiPot)
• Interlock scheme validation
• HV insulation resistance
• Contact resistance of VCB & busbars 
• Performance of Protection Relays

The comprehensive Protection Coordination study was conducted with licensed ETAP software & with beyond-simulation review by APCL’s consultants.
